EAS - Easy Advanced Search
Easy Advanced Search provides simple andconvenient access to Google's powerful enhanced search functions:exact phrase:This is to enter a phrase that shall be contained in the resultexactly as is, e.g. veni, vidi, vici.necessary terms:Have to be included in the result.terms to exclude:Must not be in the result.optional terms:May, but don't have to be included. Can be helpful to control thesemantic context. This is closest to Google standard search.search in Domain/Subdomain:Limits search to domains e.g. wikipedia or wikipedia.fr orSubdomains, e.g. org or infolanguage:Searches only pages in the given language. Use the common twoletter shortcuts like EN = English, FR = French etc.origin:Searches only pages from the given country.Tipps:In general it is preferrable to use lower case terms only. Googlewill automatically append 'similar' results even when the search isheavily resricted. It may even occur that there is not a singleperfect hit in the results.Privacy:The Google Searcher does not need any special permissions. Itbuilds the search string and opens it on button click in theinstalled browser. Thus it doesn't even need Internet access. When finishing EAS all entered text is deleted. The chooseninterface language is stored however. The actual state may be savedthrough the menu. Menu > forget all deletes all enteredinformation (even the choosen interface language) and removes thesavefile completely. At next startup the savefile is newly createdwith default values.Long click on the helpfile will show the actual searchstring andall saved values.Compatibility:EAS requires Android version 4.0 or above and needs a screen sizeand resolution appropriate for webbrowsing. I have tested EASheavily on Galaxy Note 1 (Jelly Bean) and Note 3 (KitKat) as wellas on the Android emulator.Since there are so many devices and screen sizes I cannotguarantee perfect display on all of them. Any information both itit shows up correctly or not together with your device type andAndroid version is really welcome. When switching from German to English Interface and back on someolder devices EAS might be closed. On the next startup however itwill use the choosen interface language.
RetroBrowser 1.2 1.2.11
RetroBrowser is designed for just one task-simple, straightforward and comfortable mobile web-browsing.Nowaisted screen space, no gimmicks, but featuring all you needforthat purpose:- minimalistic yet sophisticated navigation- quickly switch between Browser and Search- one click choice between Google and DuckDuckGo- simple but powerful bookmark management- comprehensive help (RTFM!)RetroBrowser doesn't use gestures to avoid conflictswithwebsites that support gestures themselves. Check the helptounderstand the power beyond the surface.RetroBrowser as most Android browsers uses Androids WebViewdodisplay websites. Android 4.4 (KitKat) WebView featuresChromiumand is much more powerful than Webkit-based WebView onolderAndroid versions. I strongly recommend upgrading to KitKatifpossible.RetroBrowser is a project-in-progress. While navigationandbookmark management are very advanced thre are still issueswithsome websites to be fixed.RetroBrowser will run on any device with Android 4 or higherandat least medium size screen. It is primarily designed forlargescreen mobile devices such as Galaxy Note series or otherlargescreen smartphones/phablets. It will run on tablets as wellhoweverit is currently optimized for limited size screens.SecurityTo make it short RetroBrowser should be as secure or insecure(!)as your tablet or smartphone, your version of Android andthemanufacturers' and mobile providers' customizations. Thinkforyourself what that means for you ...It works as a normal Android App without critical permissions.Ofcourse it needs Internet access and the permission to writetoexternal storage. The latter is used to save andrestorebookmarks.Websites are displayed in Android's built-in Webview whichisused by most if not all Android browsers and the standardbrowseras well.PrivacyRetroBrowser is set up for easy usage and stability. Itacceptsand stores Cookies but the browsing history is only keptduring theactual session. RetroBrowser uses a cache for faster pageloading. The cache stores copies of the websites you visit. Cookiesallowwebsites to save additional information on your device.Cookies andcache are stored in RetroBrowsers private storage whichis notaccessible to normal users or other normal apps youinstall.Software with root rights however, that is the Androidsystemitself and some software installed by the device manufacturerormobile provider can read the website cache and cookies. Onrooteddevices basically anyone who has physical access to thedevice canread these data.RetroBrowser does not save any form data or passwords.Accessrights to many web forums and social sites are stored incookies soyou don't need to enter them on every visit. It dependson theindividual website if this is a safe procedure. Normally itshouldnot be possible to read your credentials from cookies, butsomeonewith access to your device could (ab-)use your account. Sothinktwice before you set 'remember me' or similar on login. If RetroBrowser is exited through the menu option (notonlypaused with 'Home Button') it forgets the history. Since thereisno autocomplete feature there will be no traces inRetroBrowserother than your bookmarks if you quit callin'Exit'.However that doesn't mean that you are not trackable whensurfingthe web. You are trackable in many ways, and 'THEY'definitely will:)I can only promise that I respect your privacy and alwayswilland that I do as much as I can to protect you.© 2014 Nikolaus von [email protected] . www.bomhard.de
ParanoidBrowser 1.0.0
ParanoidBrowser is based on RetroBrowserwithfocus on privacy and ease of use. It offers no bookmarks, cannotsave any data to storage and forgets everything when closed. It allows websites to use JavaScript and Cookies but doesnotstore them. On exit ParanoidBrowser's private storage iscompletelydeleted, so no temporary files will survive a closedsession. LikeRetroBrowser it supports:- minimalistic yet sophisticated navigation- direct choice between desktop- and mobile versions ofawebsite- quickly switch between browser and search- one click choice between Google and DuckDuckGo- comprehensive documentation/helpPrivacyParanoidBrowser is designed to protect your privacy innormalcircumstances. And it will do so (probably much betterthan'private mode' in other browsers does) if it works on yourdeviceas designed. Usually it will, but please verify that firstsince Iam unable to test all the various devices, Android-versionsandOEM-customisations.ParanoidBrowser cannot protect you from possible backdoorsinAndroid or in the manufacturer's code, against spywareorprofessional forensic examination. It also cannot protect youfromthe natural insecurities on the web. It is intended to protectyourprivacy from normal people even if they have physical accesstoyour device - no more, no less.A normal user will not find any traces from yourbrowsingsessions even if your device is rooted. There is no storedhistory,no cookies, no cache or other temporary files leftifParanoidBrowser is exited. It will exit if you pressyourphones/tablets Menu-Button. It will also exit if you gobackthrough the visited websites when the last visited websiteisreached and you hit the Back-Button again. If you press 'Home' or if a call or any other app interruptsyoursession it will be closed and made invisible. It will becompletelykilled if not restored within 60 seconds.ParanoidBrowser will notshow up in recent-apps-list, it can onlybe restored by clicking onit's icon. These features may cause some inconvenience but - well theyareparanoid. Imagine you surf the web privately, are gettinganimportant call, immediately go to some collegues and leaveyourAndroid on your desk. You will be really happy ifParanoidBrowserhas killed itself when you return to show e.g. anEmail tosomebody.SecurityTo make it short ParanoidBrowser is as secure (?) or insecure(!)as your tablet or smartphone, your version of Android andthemanufacturers' and mobile providers' customizations. Thinkforyourself what that means for you ...It works as a normal Android App without lots of permissions.Ofcourse it needs Internet access, that's all. Websites aredisplayedin Android's built-in Webview which is used by thestandard browserand most others as well.ParanoidBrowser is freeware.© 2015 Nikolaus von [email protected] . www.bomhard.de
